USAT Certification weekend

Day 2 of my USAT cert and it's going pretty good.  Didn't learn much from the running portion but the nutrition, psychology and physiology portion was interesting.  What I have taken away so far is that I have learned more than I thought over the years.  Not being a buyer of every written word has been important over the years. Way too many people can recite what they read, but have no idea how to apply that info and get others to understand what it means.

Missy Nicole and Adiya so I can't wait to get home.

Amazing

I'm amazed how how much people have to say and yet they remain uninvolved.

Trayvon Martin

While some of my posts got the fires started, I also learned a lot about people.  Some have great opinions but because of how society is, they are afraid to voice them.  Some have opinions without substance which does nothing to further progress for the good.  Trayvon's death was senseless and Zimmerman should never be allowed to own a gun.  Well the law says he's allowed but he isn't responsible enough in my mind to own one.  The law is the law no matter if we agree or not.  What we should be doing is looking around and seeing if we can make a dent in how this world works.  Make a difference wherever you can.

Race Week!

Well, I'm racing this weekend, but I'm more excited about the progress and speed my runners are gaining.  I love it when a plan comes together even when many don't get it.  I'm going to go hard and see what happens.

Too Serious!

I love this multisports thing, but so many people are way too serious.  The talk like the understand it all and their verbiage sounds good but maybe they are just gifted and that's why they are good.  Maybe they put everything else in their life second and that's why they are good.  Who knows, but I'm on a mission to prove you can put your family and friends first and still kick butt.  Ooops, I just put it on paper so now it's time to get going.  LORD!

I'm gonna have to start soon!!!

Well, my plan for next year is to finally break 12 hours on the Ironman and break 4 hours on my first stand alone marathon.  So, I'm going to actually start preparing now for both.  When I say prepare I don't mean mileage.  What I mean is the small things that will limit my success regardless of the plan.  Nutrition, range of motion and core stability.  Plus, I need to drop some weight to maximize my power.  Here we go.  Oh, there will be no overtraining in this plan.  No ridiculous mileage and mammoth sessions.  I'm going quality over quantity and see if that theory still holds true.  I'll be doing lots of ice baths and hot soaks.:)

The Plan!

Well, for my next Ironman in 2014, the goal is to PR again but a solid PR. Each race I've done has been faster than the next, but I haven't mastered the second half of the race.  That will mean serious time spent on nutrition and what will work.  So in doing so, I'll be balancing fatherhood, husbandhood, work and training.  I will have to make sure to not make anyone sacrifice for my hobby and that I will do....without a doubt.

My Ironman, Fatherhood and Marathon Journey

This is the beginning of my long journey into 2014.  Stay tuned!!!!!
