Well, so far it's going pretty good. I'm pretty consistent with my training but I'm not going about it new school....or maybe not even old school. For some reason I believe that people have started putting too much thought into training because of all the info out there. I also believe that power isn't all it's cracked up to be. I bet if everybody knew the pros went back to HR because it was more effective they would all switch back and save a bunch of money. Even still, for the age grouper I don't think you need it. I think it's just cool to have and if you truly train with HR you can still be on top and kicking butt. That's my thought anyway. Well, I can tell I'm getting stronger, faster and doing it will less effort and wear and tear on my body. Now I just have to drop to my race weight and stay there for rest of my life.:)
So I workout when I can. It's either when Adiya is sleeping, eating or taking a bath. Strength work happens when she's taking a bath or sleep. All others take place when she's sleeping. There's no way I will be doing an Ironman in the next 10 years. I just can't see putting in that much time for something like that. Plus, it's not just actually training, but also the mental aspect that you need to put towards plans, figuring out when to get stuff in and all. It's just not worth it to me.
